Just spotted loads of poo (with insects embedded in it) - it looks as if we've had several hedgehogs overnight…

Slugs and Snails - watch your slimy backs !

Leave them some kitten biscuits and a bowl of water out. You’ll have endless entertainment much better than the TV! I have visiting and semi- resident hedgehogs in my garden. It is a myth that they eat slugs and snails - they will eat them if desperately hungry but they don’t really like them. Mine push the slugs out of their biscuit bowl with a look of pure disgust. 🦔

Hedgehogs are very dangerous for cyclists and scooter riders - they are difficult to see in the dark and they are not at all afraid of getting run over.

I am sure that Hedgehogs would query that - they would probably claim that cyclists are extremely dangerous to them - in fact any rider on any vehicle will come off considerably better than a hedgehog in a coming together….

Poor hedgehogs are being decimated by life in general.

Evolution seems to have switched off hedgehogs' instinct to flee from danger.

Lucky you @Wibbles, I'd love some little helpers to defend against the slugs and snails in my garden!

I don't live in an area where hedgehogs are commonly seen, but my parents are out in the countryside so they get a fair few.

My mum's involved in the local rescue and she's had a bald hedgehog in her care for quite some time. Glad to say that after almost 6 months as a baldy, he's finally getting some prickles back so hopefully he'll be back out terrorising the slugs soon.

    Lovely creatures 😊
