Wheelchair/Amputee

Hello,
I was wondering if I could get some much needed advice and information. My father had a leg amputated during Covid, and unfortunately lives in a home on the top/2nd floor of a building with no lift.

The only time he is able to leave his home is for hospital appointments because transportation is arranged by the hospital to carry him down stairs, and then bring him to the hospital. Thankfully he will be finally be moving closer to our home soon.

He is essentially a recluse and has been for a few years now and I am struggling to find any companies or schemes that provide a service where they can get someone like him out of his house and transport him somewhere (my home, a relatives home etc) and bring him back to his home.
I don’t mind if it’s private, as there are no local or government schemes that seem to offer this service for leisure.
Thankyou so very much, I really hope I can get some help. X Thankyou for reading.

Does your area offer the below service?

I'd also suggest asking around in the local community, in person and online.

Facebook groups, churches, GP surgery who might have a social prescriber:

carer support groups, local charities, Citizens Advice, District Nurse, local social services are all places that may be able to offer you tips.

You can seek all in one services, or local wheelchair accessible taxis alongside hiring a carer to take your Dad out.
