Help, backdated housing costs refused by UC

Hello, can someone please verify if the job centre is correct by saying that I am not entitled to backdated payment for housing costs. I lost a month's rent because they are saying that when I made a change of circumstances I didn't provide enough evidence. ( It was just change of landlord's name). It took them weeks to respond and they told me to resubmit more evidence which I did. They awarded my housing costs but they are saying that I am not entitled to a payment for March because I submitted the evidence too late. I told them that it took them weeks to look at my change of circumstances. If they responded in a resenable time frame I would have submitted more evidence. Can someone on here with similar experience help me on how to move forward with this please. Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.

Additional info for clarity. I have made a change of circumstances that happened on 23 January 2025 on 27 of January. DWP responded on 15 of March 2025. I resubmitted evidence on 25 th March. After chasing them they approved the housing costs moving forward. But no back payment for March.

You can ask for a Mandatory Reconsideration of the decision not to backdate your rent.
This means a Decision Maker looks at the decision again.
If the decision is unchanged, you can appeal to an independent appeal tribunal.

Thank you, that's really helpful when I asked the advisor from the job centre who called me about this and I said I would like to appeal the decision she said it's not possible to appeal. Greatful that we have this online forum. The jobcentre is trying to get away with everything they possibly can.

I hate the journal thing, they never reply to ANYTHING.
I asked about a statement 3 days ago under payments and got no reply, ended up calling instead.
