Prostate Problems

Hopefully You may have read my 4 articles about "Prostate and Catheta Problems" Part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4!!!!!!.
Before I could be fitted with any kind of catheter, the consultant from Urology needed to have a one-to-one with me to discuss the diagnosis and to put forward a treatment.
Because my prostate had enlarged, it restricted almost completely the flow of urine. Hence, a 2nd bladder had been created in tandem with my original bladder. Obviously, urine had to go somewhere and went into my 2nd bladder as an "overflow reservoir". It still needed to be treated and it could not be removed.
It was decided that a "TURP" operation was needed. (Nothing to do with cleaning paint brushes). This operation was to reduce the size of the prostate in order to allow a catheter to be fitted. Typically, over a year's waiting list. Because of the discomfort, the pain and disruption of my life, there was no alternative but to go privately (with the same consultant). The alternative was to have a bag strapped to my leg, indefinitely!
A few weeks later, the operation took place and was successful (insofar as I could have a catheter fitted, and hopefully to be able to self-catheterise!) What a bonus!
Please read Part 1 to Part 4 and search for prostate problems. The entire articles should be read for it to make sense. Not quite bedtime reading, but I hope it helps.
