It is backdated but because it's paid a month in arrears, by the time you get the payment there are more arrears on the account.

Your landlord have said they want a payment plan for the arrears and they aren't willing to have your account always in arrears.

If it would be a struggle you can try for a Discretionary Housing Payment

Took my ID in and all was easy they accepted debit card as had no photo ID. I also got an advance payment which was super easy money was in my account in 2 hours. The man wrote a figure which was a bit more than i expected as I understood it’s equivalent to your first. Would the first month payment include anything backdated or that will be the figure I’ll get every month ? I was expecting around £840 ? And this said about £940 ?

Each UC payment is based on your circumstances for the previous calender month (known as the assessment period) . So each month the payment should be the same.

As advised earlier in the thread you should be better off because your ESA didn't include the SDP.

    Standard Allowance & LCWRA pays £423.27 + £400.14 = £823. 41

A monthly equivalent of previous ESA is £700.92 (rate applicable after April 7th).

yeah that’s why I was slightly confused the figure he wrote down was definitely £940. Oh well I’ll just see when the statement drops.
