Yes if you transfer with an active ESA Support Group claim, you are automatically entitled to the UC equivalent (LCWRA element) from the start of your claim.
If your legacy benefits were more than your UC award, you'll be given Transitional Protection which ensures you aren't worse off at the time of transfer. This does erode over time as other elements go up or new elements are added.

My Daughter has been on ESA for several years. She has full PIP because of her disabilities. She is currently being migrated to UC . Her daughter who is nearly is 23 is also on full PIP and UC because of her disabilities and lives at the same address. My daughter also has a 17 year old son - 18 in November - at home who is neither in work or at school at present so any allowances for him have ceased he is on the autistic spectrum and under CAMHS .
My daughter is worried sick and very confused. Will she receive the same amount on UC as previously received under ESA (old style) please? Is there any protection because of her disability elements?
Thank you very much.

As advised above if her legacy benefits were more than her UC award, she'll be given Transitional Protection which ensures you aren't worse off at the time of transfer. This does erode over time as other elements go up or new elements are added.
