NHS Refuses to treat me

Hello I have just joined after finding out about Scope on goggle. I have lots of chronic pain following a serious car crash 24 years ago, ostperousis server and mental health issues. I keep getting sick and food gets stuck in my throat from scar tissue from the traciostamy I had after my car crash it saved my life. The sickness and food getting stuck is getting worse. My GP referred me to hospital I was recently very sick needing 2 trips to A&E to get fluids via a drip. I requested investigations as to why I get sick as it's becoming a regular thing and I have a week of being ok then sick again. It's taken away my daily life I have a volunteer job that I can't go to. It's just me and my daughter no other family. I feel extremely lonely and never go out it's effecting my mental health big time. I rang the hospital to chase up my appointment to find out that they are refusing to treat me cause I missed 2 appointments 2 years ago. I rang them up at the time to explain I was ill both times but poor communication. I am now battling to be treated. Stress triggers off sickness and it's getting ridiculous. My life has no quality . My GP is trying to get help but I wondered if anyone else has been refused treatment?

@Wendy48 Hi, I am so very sorry for your health issues and especially how it's affecting your quality of life and your mental health. Hopefully your GP will be able to make a call to get your treatment and/or investigations reinstated ASAP.
I have a bit of a similar situation and can really empathise and it's all affected my mental health. I have Long Covid and 26 diagnoses in the last 3 years, losing my job as a nurse and 5 of the diagnoses are intestine- related, and 2 are of my eyes affecting my vision and 3 are of my joints - most days rendering me housebound.
I had to cancel 2 physio appts which I desperately need, in Oct and Dec (gave notice). I asked them to please not give me an appt yet as I would contact them when I recovered and I'd kept them updated. I had diverticultis Oct-Nov, double pnuemonia for 7 weeks from Xmas, then diverticulitis again for 3 weeks, in Feb to Mar and just recovered from an ear infection of a few weeks duration, as well as all my usual nonsensical LC problems 🙄.
In the meantime physio sent me a third appt, I rang them and they've discharged me for 'non attendance'. As well as a completely inappropriate call which can only be described as contemptuous, from the specialist physio.
Anyway, my GP has now had to refer me back in and it was c 8 months I'd originally waited so here we go again. I am in the process of sending a complaint to the CEO of the Trust but it's took me months to be able to decide/write it so far as it involves another physio too and OT.
I put in a SAR (subject access request) in February and the 22 pages of notes I received, several of the pages showed not just inaccuracies but some really inappropriate comments which made me realise I am absolutely right to put in a formal complaint and my GP luckily has been extremely sympathetic and is not happy that I was discharged.
I do feel that your GP should be able to get you back in to the service so you get the care you so very rightly deserve. Hopefully ASAP.
Have you got help to support your mental health? I sought help from what was IAPT (talking therapies) in September '24, assessment was by phone Dec '24 agreed can't have CBT due to CPTSD so counselling agreed and was on waiting list. Appt 2 weeks ago, the 'counsellor' said it would be CBT which I cannot undergo. So 8 months wasted with no help but have now found a psychologist privately and that starts next week which I can't afford so some 'bill' money going on that but 60.00 normal fee and they've agreed a concessionary rate of 30.00.
Please keep hope. My experience has been pretty shocking tbh. I'm only having appts now with one of the GPs at my practice and she's incredibly supportive (it's a very large practice); with so many diagnoses, it's hard to convey to GPs who don't know the full story from whats happened to my health from Covid.
Take very good care; sorry for the long post - it does tend to be all or nothing with me! 🫠😊
