Preparing for emergencies survey

Hi everyone,
Scope are working with the British Red Cross to find out what support disabled people and their families need in emergencies.
We want to ask people about how they have prepared for emergencies. For example, fires, floods and power cuts.
You can enter a prize draw for a £40 gift voucher.
The survey will be open until 31 May. You can fill in the survey here.

Wouldn't it be easier to ask the people of Gaza, Israel, Ukraine, Russia, Pakistan and India?
Obviously, the best solution is to run and save yourself. In cases of power grid failure only, you will need a spare gasoline (or diesel) electric generator.
I would especially like to point out the need to have a stock of prescription medications for those who need them. This is a serious problem.3 -
I have an emergency care link in place, I live in a second story flat that has its own private entrance and I have to use a stair lift alongside keep medicine in a fridge, I’m on the emergency list for if there is a power outage, I have emergency numbers logged into my phone for my gas, water, electric companies. If in an emergency I’ll contact my housing provider or emergency services. For my mental health I’ve also got all relevant emergency contact numbers there to. My Carelink company knows my key safe code, alongside if I die they also have my funeral plan number and who to contact as well.

I'm supposed to have a grab bag, in case of emergencies - Cash, passport, or copies of, ID of some sort, spare clothing, 2 weeks of meds. And basic records..
For power cuts etc, power bank, torches etc
Registered as priority customer with utilities.. We are both registered as Carers' with the local council and carry emergency carers cards..
I really need to get my funeral plan sorted tho..! As we have carers in for my partner they know where meds are, and that's usually gone over during SS reviews..1 -
I live in my own home with my dog. Won't have carers in, my friend is very good . He helps me a lot. I'm on the priority list for gas and electricity. Plus the fire brigade fitted smoke alarms and I've made it clear that if there ever was a fire I've got my dog. I'd hate to think I could be rescued and she wasn't. One thing I do do is take my mobile to bed when we go to bed. If there is an emergency I can get help.

@birdwatcher I hear you re your doggo. When id three dogs I'd an escape plan if my house,God forbid, ever went on fire. They are gone now ,aged12,14,16. 😢
But I still have that plan in my head for the boy I have now. I've my mobile close by too.luckily I've family members next door and parents living in the next street. I always have torches handy both rechargeable and battery operated. And of course batteries. I've a bag with a few essentials in it hanging in my room. Hope it's never needed.
