Rent free weeks & UC

As housing Benefit has always paid my rent I wasn’t aware I had rent free weeks. If UC housing is paid monthly I’m wondering how they work it out ? Do they know when the rent free weeks are ? Also how do they compensate for months being different lengths. Is the housing amount different every month ?

What UC do is add up your total annual rent liability, then divide that into 12 equal payments. So you will receive the same amount each month.

ok so that means for 2 months out of 3 I’ll actually be short what has to be paid, not much. But 1 month out of 3 I’ll actually be over as will be a free week. This is gonna be bit confusing.

Speak to your Landlord, they will be well used to people paying their rent via UC Housing Element 😊
