Universal credit review and unspent money

Hi you lovely people I have been on a website called reddit to try get some more information then one of there mods banned me as j was trying to understand how unspent money becomes savings as you all know im pretty stressed out my review is tomorrow what I was told before a lovely person banned me was I was asking about my unspent benefits money I only ever had 1 bank account they told me as long as it never reached 6k not to worry then I asked when I opened a savings account how do I work out my unspent benefits money and my savings they told me on the last day of my assessment period write down what I have left and add my savings thisbis my capital but then I was told eg that assessment period i had 3600 in savings and 160 in my bank i add tvese together which i understood but numerous people have said the next month you have your total from the month before which would of been 3760 then add what's left on the 31st to that amount so I had to add123 to the total from last month which would take me to 3883 is this correct or is it just recalculated ever month my savings fluctuate so its hard to work out sometimes the women was really rude now I can't even comment at all can anyone help me please dreading the review 2moro 😭😭

Hi @sophie2002
If you've got less than £6000 alltogether you will be okay!😀0 -
Don't add anything from the previous month. That's just badly worded on the government website.
Only add together what you have on the 31st in savings account and normal account. Forget about any other money from other months.

This is what ive been doing but looking on gov website its stupid it makes it so complicated so for example im gonna go back when I think uve messed up
Eg I have 123 left at end if my ap add this to my unspent benefits +my savings and that's my total 3123 ,but then the month after I have 343 of unspent savings which would then be 123+343=466 unspent to date +3k savings =3466,then end if next ap i have 109 unspent does that mean ive accumulated 466+109=575+3k =3575 and so on sometimes my savings may go up sometimes go down im so confused my phone call is in 2 hours jve not slept all night xx

The money from other months is already part of the balance for this month. The bank have done that calculation for you. It's not a separate thing that you have to add yourself.
Good luck with the call. 🙂

Why does the gov site tell you different its so confusing all uve been doing is at the end of my assessment period 31st look at my bank account it will say what's left then I added that to my savings for that assessment period but the following month I was basically starting a fresh this isn't correct is it x

The gov site doesn't say different, it's just not worded very clearly.
Yes, you are correct, on 31st just add the balance from your savings account and the balance from your normal account. It really is that simple.
