Esa to Universal credit managed migration

On our first universal credit statement no traditional protection added and no LCWRA added either, my wife was on esa income related support group. Also I'm her carer and get carers allowance for looking after her, have the dwp made an error somewhere? It says on the statement our records show Your wife still gets employment support allowance of 609.21, but that stopped on the 25th of April and they deducted that from our first payment. Our first uc payment is nil this month, my wife had a letter from esa stating that her payments have stopped, why is it still showing on the universal credit statement. I would appreciate some help please.

Transitional Protection is added if your total UC award (before any deductions) is lower than legacy benefits. Not everyone migrating qualifies for TP.
It's not uncommon for the first statement to be incorrect.
LCWRA element missing is a mistake and I see from your other thread you have alerted them to this.
Carers Allowance is deducted in full from your UC award. As this is a separate benefit.
Did you report being her carer when applying, you should see Carers Element on the statement in your name, this is paid under UC £201.68.
Please read through this thread for an explanation regarding the ESA deduction.
Up to date figures are £281.10 New Style ESA a fortnight & £609.05 deducted from UC.

Thank you kimi87, so we should get the new style esa payment every fortnight then, even though esa stopped my wife's payments on April the 25th and universal credit have got it wrong somewhere adding her esa onto the statement. They also said they can only pay 194.00 towards the rent and I have to pay the other half, how can I do this out of carers allowance and pip that's all we get now. No payment of universal credit this month? What about next month will we not get anything then 🤔

You should be getting Carers Element on your UC statement as advised.
Once LCWRA is added your total award before deductions will increase £423.27.
If you rent privately then UC Housing Element pays the Local Housing Allowance rate for your area as a maximum.
How many bedrooms do you have? How many are occupied?
Does your wife need frequent and regular overnight care from a non resident carer?
Are you able to share a bedroom with your wife?
As per the thread I linked too IR ESA stops and is replaced by UC, the Contributions Based converts automatically into New Style ESA.
Yes your wife should be getting New Style ESA payments each fortnight of £281.10 yes. This is deducted in full from your UC award. £609.05 is the monthly equivalent of NS ESA which is a weekly benefit, there are 4.3 weeks in a month.
Are you absolutely certain your wife hasn't been receiving those payments?

Thank you kimi87, we have a 1 bedroom flat and I claim carers allowance which I told universal credit about, all we get now is my wife's pip and my carers allowance, how can universal credit give us nothing after moving on to it via managed migration? Esa haven't written to us explaining the new style esa, my wife had her letter stating her esa stopped, we rent via social housing.

Communications regarding New Style ESA can be delayed.
For a 1 bed social housing property you should get the whole rent paid.
This could be a UC error or a landlord error (my social housing provider made a mistake with my rent amount recently).
What does your statement say alongside the Housing Element?
You currently have a zero award due to at least one mistake (missing LCWRA element which as advised raises your award before deductions by £423.27).
Carers Allowance is deducted in full, correct.
New Style ESA deduction should be correct - are you absolutely certain your wife hasn't been getting those payments? As per the thread I linked too upon migration IR ESA stops and is replaced by UC, the Contributions Based ESA converts automatically into New Style ESA.
Carers Element is missing - this either needs to be claimed or raise it as another missing element.

Hi again Kimi87 and my wife received her last payment of esa a fortnight ago and hasn't had any more payments from esa as yet, she usually gets it every fortnight it would be due tomorrow 27 of may, if the new style esa is on her bank statement all well and good, if not then dwp universal credit have made a big mistake paying us nil this month, on the statement it does include the £201 carers element I just noticed but they took that off us including the carer's allowance and the money we have to pay back £50 for the advance payment. The rent part on the statement reads we will pay your landlord £194.01 a month and you have to pay the other half 191.00 the rent on our flat is 385.21 a month. The LCWRA isn't included on the statement or no transitional payment either, 🤔 someone at universal credit has made a big mistake kimi87, ty for your help it's much appreciated, also because I'm new here I don't know what name dropper means

If your wife got an ESA payment a fortnight ago that means she does get NS ESA and the deduction is correct.
So:
LCWRA is missing.
Transitional Protection is potentially missing.
Rent is incorrect.
I'd add a Journal note asking for clarification around what is happening about the rent, that's a confusing message as to what's going on I'm not able to advise further on that one.
I have tags turned off anyway so I don't get alerts when someone does 😊

Thank you @Kimi87 your right about the rent is confusing 😕 because of the deductions from our universal credit payments there's not enough left to cover all our rent they said, so we have to pay the rest which isn't going to be easy coming out of 762.00 a month, of which we pay other things out of it including electric and gas bills food etc etc, I can't understand why they are saying my wife still gets esa when it stopped a fortnight ago? There's no LCWRA payment added to it either, I've wrote in both journals about this, we had a message on Sunday morning 334am to sign into our universal credit account as there's a change to the universal credit payment. That was the change no payment this month. Nil

New style esa is paid fortnightly.
As advised on migration to UC the IR ESA stops and gets replaced by UC, the CB ESA converts automatically into New Style ESA.
Because your wife had an ESA payment 2 weeks ago the timing means it's most likely NS ESA. Also the deduction amount on your statement is correct for NS ESA payments. She should get the next payment tomorrow from what you've written.
UC is a means tested benefit made up of different elements.
First the entitlements are added up, then deductions are made.
Currently due to incorrect rent & missing LCWRA, and potentially missing TP, your deductions out strip entitlements leaving you with a zero award.
Your deductions are correct, for Carers Allowance, NS ESA & advance payment.
Once the entitlements have been corrected hopefully that should see some UC payable including full rent.
You can use a benefits calculator to estimate your true award, or consult a trained benefits advisor via local welfare rights organisation.
This national service offers help with your first payment statement

Thank you @Kimi87 and tomorrow we should get a message from universal credit with an explanation and do those benefit calculators ask for national insurance numbers then, I'd use them if they didn't ask for that information, also the move from esa income related to universal credit should be easy, but being told nil payment this month is confusing and very upsetting.

Unfortunately it's common to have the first statement incorrectly calculated. This is getting more frequent as the number of migrations go up causing backlogs within the system.
Benefit calculators do not ask for your NI number.
I don't know when you will get a response to your Journal messages.

Thank you @Kimi87 and I'll add a post soon as they sort it out and the problem is universal credit don't inform claiments like us about things like the LCWRA payments on their universal credit payments, it's not right how they treat people.
