Failure of Blue Badge Online System

My wife has tried over 3 days to renew her Blue Badge online which caused her great stress and distress.

Twice her saved Application has been wiped after partial completion . To recover a saved application you have to wait for an email. Last night this email was sent at 1:15 am! …. 6 hours after 'Saving'. This email had a life of one hour after which the application is wiped if you attempt at access it.

This happened to me as I tried for her today and this inordinate delay has happened again ( still waiting 2 hours later).

There is nowhere I can register a complaint or record a failure in the system. Has anyone had the same problems.

She should contact the blue badge department at your local authority, there should be a telephone number on the council website.

    Thank you Kimi.

It was a Sunday but I eventually was able to unravel the very unfriendly user interface.

    A government managed website

Hi @DanielG, welcome to the community. I'm really sorry your wife is having so much trouble with the Blue Badge system. I've heard from a couple of other members that some of the online services to register or update can be a bit tricky and don't always work as they should.

As Kimi87 mentioned, there may be a number on your council's website that you can ring to ask for some guidance. That might be the best way forward here if the service isn't working properly.

Hope you can get it sorted soon!

I'm glad you got it sorted, although the application is done via a national website the applications go through to local authorities, who then check the applications and issue the badges.

That's why I recommended making a phone call to them, when they were open again 😊

Hopefully your LA isn't as slow as mine at dealing with BB's.

Just seen you've already replied @DanielG, sorry I didn't catch that before pressing submit on my post. Glad you finally managed it after all that stress!
