Hi, my name is jobroon! Will a £6,000 payout from my employer affect my benefits?

Hi

I have been off work for 2 years with health issues and my sick pay ended a few months back , they have take me down the capability of work route as im not fit to work ,I am now on Esa and my employer has just informed me I will get a pay out of under £6000 will this effect my benefits?

    New style ESA is not effected by the amount of money you have in capital.

    If you apply for Universal Credit to top up your income, capital between £6k-£16k does reduce your award.

    With UC some types of compensation can be disregarded for 12 months.
