Ongoing award PIP due review 2027

hello lovelies…
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have been to seen my hospital consultant who has said a new condition being diagnosed along with the other 3 I currently have already informed on my claim for pip
I've also had a number of meds added to my list of medications being now 14 items along with Humira Injections for RA. I'm wondering if I need to update pip regards this change or wait until 2027 for review to come….. I'm stuck and really don't know what to do for the best will me contacting them who do I contact and or will this matter speed up my review in 2027….. really not sure which way to turn very confused now as I don't want to get into trouble going forward.
kindest regards and thank you in advance for any advice.

Hi @tealhoneydew16, have your conditions worsened or have you just received diagnosis for symptoms that you have already reported on your PIP claim?
As PIP is more about how your conditions affect you than any particular diagnosis, then you wouldn't necessarily need to update them on your diagnosis or new medications unless things have got worse.
If you feel your conditions have worsened to a point where you feel you may be entitled to a higher award, then it could be worth submitting a change of circumstances to let them know. The same would apply if your conditions have got better and you expect that change to last. A change of circumstances is like a review where they look at your whole claim and decide whether your award needs to change. You can ring the PIP enquiry line to get that started:
Contact the Disability Service Centre - GOV.UK
There's a guide to the PIP descriptors here if you'd like to have a read through to see where you might score points:

I'm sure our members might have some advice too so I hope they'll be along soon ☺️

Hi @tealhoneydew16 - as Rosie has said, you don't need to inform the DWP about any new diagnosis, nor a change in your medication. Even if your condition has worsened, unless you're fairly certain that you might then be able to increase your award, then don't ask for your award to be looked at again (a 'Change of circumstances'), as your award could stay the same, or go up or down, having completed a new claim form, & usually needing another assessment, etc.
As review forms are currently being sent out about 8 months before your current award is due to end, depending when this is in 2027, you might not be waiting that long until you're reviewed again. Then you could write about your new diagnosis & about whatever your then current medication might be. You won't be in any trouble for not mentioning this earlier, as this sort of thing changes for many claimants between their initial claim & a review/between reviews.
Do look at those PIP descriptors Rosie has linked to again, as PIP is about your functional ability to reliably be able to complete these activities, not about any diagnoses, etc.
