Hi, my name is Sonia66! Can I still have a second bedroom if my carer lives elsewhere?

Hi,
I am having housing issues. The housing Cornwall Home choice are saying to qualify for a two bedroom property my carer must live in the property full-time. My Daughter is my carer and in receipt of carers allowance, but is in her own property. She likes her own independence. Can anyone give me advice?

I've looked at their T&C's from
Point 89 from the Common Assessment Framework.
This seems relevant:
Consideration will be given forthe need to have an additional bedroom for a carer or
team of carers who do not live at the property but provide permanent overnight care.
This will be assessed through the welfare process which will consider whether a
household are or ‘would’ receive housing benefit entitlement based on additional
bedroom requirement.I would ask them in light of allocations policy why they are saying otherwise.
You could also talk to a local advice agency:
