Rude neighbour
Hello to all,
Where I live earlier this year my housing association send out letters to all residents not to feed the birds as it was attracting vermin, damage to properties asit was atracting seagulls and pigeons etc
My area is 100 bungalows for 55 plus aged people, front gardens but open plan to back of properties.Last weekend I put a letter through the door to my next door neighbour as he was putting out food left overs from his dinner plate, bird seed, and bread on the open planned area to the back of my property.
I asked him with a please, and thankyou within the request not to put out bird food,as it wasnt allowed as wehad all been sent letters about it.
He has continued to feed the birds since, starting at 5.30 am and doing so throughout the day to around 10pm.
This morning he woke me up at 5,30am as he slammed his back door to go out to feed the birds.I watched him from the back entrance window, and he could clearly see me.On his return to his property he hsd to pass my house, and as he did so he pulled a childish face stuck out his tongue and stuck his 2 fingers up.I was shocked,I opened the top window and said you are not meant to feed the birds and you woke me up by banging the back door and its 5.30 am in the morning. He just made a face again and stuck up his 2 fingers again. So i shut the window and went back into the tv room and just cried my eyes out,
After i calmed down,I send 2 emails, one to my housing association and one to the local council reporting the above and how i thought this was anti social behaviour.
Of course I wont get a reply from them until they return to work, but he has put me on edge for tomorow morning when he wakes me up again early,as I dont believe he will do the neigbourly thing and what the housing assocation requested not to feed the birds as he has totally ingored there request from earlier this year.
Do you think I have been fair,to him?.his behavior has shocked me,and its made me feel i dont want to live here anymore.I am a woman on my own and I think he sees me as a soft target. What advice or views does anyone have on this?
Thankyou for reading, enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Hi and thankyou so much for taking the time and trouble to reply to my message.
I totally agree in your advice and your right in saying now it's down to the council etc.i have since learnt from fellow neighbours further down that o. Friday night around 10pm he had a electric hedge trimmer and was cutting his boxed hedging plants he has in pots.As they state they had to look to see where the noise was coming from that time of night and it was my next door neighbour. So this again I think is unreasonable behavior.
Anyway thankyou again and enjoy your day,and take care also.

TThankyou for taking the time and trouble to reply to my message.
I will take photos of him feeding the birds without him knowing incase the council ask for evidence.I won't get involved if he confronts me in him speaking to me or rude gestures,I will just make a note of it though for council reference if needed.
I have spoke to fellow neighbours that live further down, and they told me that on Friday night at 10pm he has cutting his boxed hedging plants in pots with a electric hedge trimmer,in there words they said they had to look and see where the noise was coming from that time of night and it was from my next door neighbour.
I will await and see what comes from my emails, and take it from there.i will try and enjoy my home etc and consecrate on my neighbours that are decent and respectful to fellow neighbours around them
You enjoy your day, thankyou again and take care too.

not to feed the birds…. I wanted the letter to say don't feed the government, 😁!
It seems like someone in the housing association has a lot of extra time and paper.
