Thanks @photojim & @Carpy. I'm not sure what to say about this advert. It seems very bizarre doesn't it…

Uum, I've watched it three times. It didn't make me laugh at all. If anything was faintly amusing it was the dog. Just been trying to figure it out!

    Two thoughts come to mind.

One, why? I don't know why Curry's would think that advertising products suitable for somebody who is either deaf, partially sighted or has a guide dog is Curry's going 'Beyond Expectations'........ Why on earth would that be 'Beyond Expectations' when it should be the norm.

Two, the Tango ad, if anyone remembers that, was banned ('You've been Tangoed' with a slap on each side of face) because of children copying it/fear of burst eardrums. The Curry's ad I feel has connotations of that.

I'll find out which advertising agency produced it, just out of interest but I'll probably write to them, and the Advertising Standards Agency.

I appreciate it isn't connected but when we have the likes of Liz Kendall saying we're 'taking the mickey' it rather makes me think somebody else is here πŸ™‚

There's a few companies involved mainly AMV BBDO Creatives, can't link here sorry but Curry's.com Press Releases very informative.

It would be interesting to know if people with hearing or sight loss find it inclusive. Curry's worked with both the RNIB and RNID in producing it. So now the juries out for me (they look to be inclusive as employers but only glanced through that). Although a visit to Specsavers might be needed .... the main thrust is around 'Beyond TECHspectations' so there's a positive message their too I think.

Whilst I'm still not personally feeling the narrative, it's created with good intent so I don't liken it to Kendall's comments now.

Typical advertising in Japan looks about the same. Even better. πŸ˜‚
