HI, anybody can share methods to be used to obtain a report from medics, health professionals? pls

how to make GP issue a report? my surgery even said, that they DO NOT KNOW HOW TO.. then googled that they are not keen as it is additional work.

been on a 6th session of talking therapies re GAD,, asked some sort of report/ letter. HAD been rudely refused: we have 4ooo patients, we have not time for letters,

Why do you want this information? Do you want it for a specific purpose?

    Hi

You can request a "subject access report" free of charge to obtain your health records from your doctors surgery.

It takes about a month for them to process it

You may be able to enter your details on the NHS website, and access your medical record there. https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/gps/view-your-gp-health-record/

I can understand why GPs are reluctant to issue reports. It is true that a lot of them are very overstretched with just seeing patients so having to write a report stating someone's disabilities (who they may not even know that well) is difficult. As others have suggested I would download your patient record which should give all the details of any illnesses and referrals. Your consultant or specialist nurse (if you have one) would have a clearer idea of what you can and cannot do relating to your disabilities.

Hi Mijuka I’m not sure what benefit you need this for but if it’s ESA I went through this recently and, looking at my GP Health Record on my NHS app I found a copy of the report that my GP had been sent by DWP to my doctor asking for information and my GP had completed it and returned it to them. I was able to download a copy of this from the app. Not sure if this relates to what you need but hope it helps. For all of your medical information it’s well worth having the NHS app as every appointment you attend and all your medication etc is on there, hope you get what you need and it all goes well.

Hi @Mijuka I have copied the link for you that tells you about the app.

    https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/about-the-nhs-app/

I have found it really helpful as it keeps notes of all of your appointments that the doctor has made.

Hopefully if you can get the NHS app you will get the information you need even if your GP will not write a report for you.

One bit of advice I read (I think it was on here) that really helps is to make sure you see your GP occasionally as it keeps your records up to date for when you might need them like now.

Hope you get the information you need, sending best wishes
