Youreable?

Hello, I’m wondering if anyone here is a former member of ‘youreable’ forum.
I was a senior member there for a few years but I’ve ultimately jumped ship after giving up any hope of a revival of their forum. I miss it terribly and I’m shocked that such a valuable resource for disabled people just disappeared with no explanation or hope that it would ever return.
If you were a member what was your username? Mine was Archersmate.

I've not heard of this forum before now, but it must have been difficult to have something like that shut down and disappear. How long ago were you a member?

Hello Rosie, I first joined Youreable in about 2012 and must’ve made a couple of hundred posts over the next 10 years, it was ran by the disabled living foundation and there was hundreds of members, dozens were regular and some had been members longer than me.
It first closed down for maintenance in about 2021 and never reopened, it was for me a valuable resource for benefit advice, equipment guidance and support for my mental health as I always knew that I could usually find others who could give me advice when I needed it. Sometimes I used to just use it for a rant about whatever was winding me up or have a joke with someone about daft stuff.
I must admit that without it I’ve felt more isolated, but I’m hoping in time that Scope can fill the void.
