Pip and there point system

Hello there all I just wanted some help if possible I was awarded pip for Daly living and mobility at full on the 1st from but then I was reduced by 2 points in my diary living that took me down to 10 points instead because my physiotherapist had stopped but I try to explain that it was not just stop it was because it was making my pain worse this is for my sciatica in my leg and back but they stop the physio and got me InTouch with a pain specialist instead I had 2 meeting with him.and he as put me on for more treatment at the pain people at my hospital I'm now on there waiting list so do I have a argument to be made there or not thanks
And they give me full mobility because of the same reason as I can't walk much because of the pain which I don't understand how that would work as I got 12 points for not being able to walk much because of it but they took the 2 points away over it on the other one any help I be honest greatfall thanks all

Hi,
Which descriptor were the two points taken from on daily living?
Did you score any points for that descriptor this time or not?

On the paperwork I got from the prison that did my appointment put on her letter that she did suggest to award me 2 more points on Managing therapy or monitoring for my physical but as it was being dealt with I informed them that I no longer having it as it as make my situation worse of and I also informed them that I was going ahead to see a pain specialist and they put on my decision paper that drew to my physio being stop that they well only be awarding 10 points and not the 12 that was mentions so with that in mind I seen my pain specialist 2 times and he as requested for the hospital to take it on further on then he can so to me I never stopped my anything myself I was given 12 points before they knew about it being stop and I post them everything to keep them updated
Would I have a case for it and I also have new problems both my legs have fluid in them that makes my leg go numb I also have tingling in both hand and pain I just been to hospital as they thought I had cancer and had biopsys and scan done it's come back ok but I do have a blocked sliver glands that's as give me lumps on my neck and jawline and also my GP as requested me to do a refill for the new weight loss injection with all this going on now and I not told pip yet could I get more help even if it's getting to and from the hospital for all the difference appointments that I now need to go to like I have one soon for a MRI scan then I have to go back again and that's in the next 3 weeks I also have to get a date for the hospital for the weight loss injection as well I also now have to wear a mouth guard for the next 3 weeks every day and night and then on only nights so if I tell them all of this on top would they reconsider there original decision?

Hi @ben2026 - I was so pleased to read on your other thread that your problems weren't due to cancer, tho I'm sure you're still in a lot of pain & discomfort until you get things sorted.
About your PIP claim, the comparitively easiest & quickest thing to do is a Mandatory Reconsideration, which is just asking for another decision maker to look at everything again.
If you instead put in for a 'Change of circumstances' it's like everything starts again. You'd have to complete another claim form, go through another assessment, etc. Your award could therefore go up, down or stay the same.
With a Mandatory Reconsideration the same could happen, tho usually your award stays the same & it would be quite rare for it to go down.
With a Mandatory Reconsideration, any worsening of condition since you received your decision wouldn't be taken into account. You can just write them a letter asking them to look again at your decision saying exactly where you feel you shouldn't have lost points, & why especially that you're still in pain & waiting for another hospital appointment or whatever they intend doing to help.
The comment that because you don't see a 'physiotherapy specialist or pain specialist' then you can do more than you've said, is just one of the phrases they use & I think it would be worth saying why you had to stop physio, & that you've seen a pain specialist twice, etc.
Personally, I think it's harder to argue about getting points for 'managing therapy' & would just concentrate on the above relating it to any relevamt activities of daily living.
They will look at your whole award again, tho you can say that it's just the daily living component that you're disagreeing with. If the comment about you not seeing a physio or pain specialist rather only relates to the mobility component of PIP, then I'd not do a Mandatory Reconsideration as you already have been awarded the enhanced rate.
Hope some of that helps, & kindly let us all know how you get on.
