hi, can anyone give a definite answer on that.

I asked for MR, within the time frame, i was given waiting time 15 weeks, THE DWP decision will be by the end of July 2025.

I applied for PIP in January 2024, some changes in my treatment plan since January.

I called DWP to ask if i can send in additional info.. DENIED.

doES ANYONE KNOWS FOR USRE THAT I AM NOT ALLOWED TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFO DURING THAT PERIOD ( WE know that DWP can be simply lying) . thank you

Hi @Mijuka I think that in this scenario, any additional information needs to be submitted with the mandatory reconsideration. Am I right in reading you're expecting a decision in around a month?

Hi @Mijuka - sorry to disagree with Holly somewhat. You can submit more evidence at any stage with PIP, including a MR or appeal to a tribunal.

When you ring the 'DWP' you're speaking to a call handler who won't know about benefits apart from what they may be able to read from a screen.

Any extra evidence should however relate to how you were at the time you received your decision letter, as that's what you're asking to be 'reconsidered.'

The advised timescale to get a decision within 15 weeks is likely accurate, but it's best to send any extra 'relevant' info off as soon as possible in case a decision is made early. That timescale will likely also include the time it takes for you to receive the decision letter about your MR by post.

If the info you intend sending further explains any difficuties you had already relied on (with your claim form or MR), then it's OK to send that even if you only received it later for example, tho a worsening of your condition won't be considered.

You can submit additional information until a decision on the MR is made. I have come across a couple of cases where individuals have been contacted whilst waiting for an MR decision and asked if they want to submit any additional evidence.

Hi good morning.I myself have had to do an M R.As in my case I've gone from enhanced on both to standard on both.CAB helped me with the M R and with that I sent in extra evidence which was allowed,so I don't know how they have denied you this.My 15 weeks is up in August so I've got a long time to wait, but good luck hope you get the decision that you want.

thank you, my MR is negative.. i understand i have a month for Tribunal. DO I UNDERSTAND CORRECTLY THAT FOR AN APPEAL TO TRIBUNAL i CAN not provide ANY NEW INFO.. (makes sense.. ) would appreciate if anyone knows for sure.. and after i deliver my appeal.. normally what is the time frame to go to the tribunal in person. thank you

Hi @Mijuka - unfortunately most MRs don't change your award, but the success rate is about 70% with a tribunal.

With your tribunal you can send in any new evidence so long as it relates to any conditions you have already mentioned, much as with your MR. You can send any info in at any time, but once you know when your tribunal will take place, make sure you submit it in good time beforehand. The tribunal will not consider any worsening of your condition since you received your decision letter also.

It could be some months before you get a tribunal unfortunately. this is usually by phone or video call, & you can have someone with you for support, but they will want to hear from you.

A tribunal consists of 3 people, a judge, a Dr & someone with an understanding about disabilities. They will ask questions to find out more about how your disability affects you & will not be interested in your assessment as they know these are often of poor quality.

Hoping all goes well. Please come back with any questions.

Can you have a face to face Tribunal? My assessment was by phone and I struggled with it - I would prefer a face to face.

    Hi @Thomo

You can request to have a face to face tribunal on your review form 😊
