Living alone for the first time

hi, i haven't been on here in over a year, but thought it'd be good to get some advice if that's okay.

i'm a 20 year old young adult, autistic, and partially disabled (ehlers danlos syndrome), and i entered the care system when i was 14 via a psych ward. my family have stuck by me the whole time, and i feel very lucky to have them.

i currently live in shared accommodation with 24/7 carers in the house, but if everything goes to plan, i will be moving out by the 18th next month with my cat and will be living alone but nearer to my family.

i did freak out quite badly last night after the adrenaline wore off but my mum and nan helped.

sorry for the rambling, i'll get to the point now.

does anyone have some tips and/or coping methods for the anxiety of living alone, and the sense of unease leading up to it? i am excited to have my own place, i just overthink to the point of anxiety attacks.

i'm going to view the flat tomorrow and hopefully put a holding deposit down.

thank you

Sounds like you have an excellent support system with your family. Getting your first place and living independently can be exciting, but also overwhelming.

In this situation I think most people would overthink and it's quite natural to do so.

I suppose all I can recommend is that you focus on the positives (as best you can).

Well done on having the courage to walk in to your new journey of living independently. Your cat will protect you and will be a great source of emotional strength and will give you all the love and courage that you will ever need as well as having your supportive family close by! You a strong person and your gonna be more than ok!!! I hope you get a lovely place suited to all your needs. All the best

@Wheeled_Weapon thank you, that's what I'm trying to do is focus on the positives and hope the uneasy feeling slowly gets smaller

@Kiki23 thank you for the kind words, I'm as excited as I am nervous, it's just been a super long time since I've felt this uneasy.

I'll probably revisit this after tomorrow with a little update :)

@Wheeled_Weapon its heavy on the overwhelming at the moment, but am doing my best to be positive and my family are being incredibly with helping- the main positives right now are that i will have more than just a bedroom to live in, i'll be back in my home area, i'll be free from the care system finally, and my cat will have a lot more space (and i can actually have cutlery in the kitchen drawer haha)

@Kiki23 thank you so much. my cat is super protective of me anyway, so i know i'll have him no matter what, and as i mentioned above my family are being incredible and are already planning who's doing what for the whole moving and settling in process.
honestly the unease has lessened a bit just from both of your comments, though i know it'll kick in again.

i'll probably come back tomorrow with an update on if the viewing goes well, but i'll be around for any more possible tips and tricks haha
