Be careful out there on WFA…There's text scams going round that you have to register for it. As far as I know, you will get the allowance automatically without this. The scammers are looking for your bank details. Do not, I repeat do no reply or click on reply to this text!

    Thanks for the warning @AppleJacks! There are quite a few misleading headlines and scams about so it's really important to check things and verify them with information from the government's website.

    As you rightly said, don't click links, don't enter any of your details and don't reply to any suspicious texts!

    i received a text about this and the link to a website that looks exactly like the govt website butvi was already aware that it was asca scam because the wording of the text was suspicious. I just clicked the link out of interest ti see what it wouod look liie and straight away it asked for bank or credit card details.

    Glad you spotted that it wasn't right @bennos79, these websites are really tricky sometimes. You can forward suspicious texts to 7726, it's a number specifically designed for reporting this kind of thing.
