Living in pain /invisible illness/mental health

Living with an invisible illness means some days, “just getting through” is an achievement.
🕊️ You don’t have to keep up with anyone else.
🛏️ You don’t need to explain why today’s a slow day.
🌿 Doing what you can — even if that’s just resting — counts.
Your worth is not measured by your productivity.
You are allowed to go gently ❤️

Hi, couldn’t have said it better myself. 🫶

True words @Therareone1
Your worth is not measured by your productivity.
The above is what defines me unfortunately. I'm my harshest critic. I still mourn for the person who could walk up mountains, who could do 10 hours physical work as a day job and then moonlight for a few hours more in the evening.
It depresses the hell out of me how everything I do comes at a price to be paid back from the body bank, how a 1/2 hour task now takes 6. How walking in a straight line for 50 metres is actually a triumph
So many professionals have told me to be kind to myself, still finding it hard to accept I'm broken
But hey, still got my health … oh wait 🤣
I'm sure both me and the wife wish I could have a body transplant, me to be productive again … her more along the lines of Channing Tatum …

Hi, I’m new here, just posted but I know exactly, as many others will, how you feel. It is pure grief for the old you but you will find a new you, different but still you.
Milton, Poet, on his blindness.
‘They also serve who only stand and stare’ (can’t remember the exact quote but near enough). Centuries after this was written this really helps me as it says to me even though your disabled you still have a worth, just takes time to know this yourself and for others to see it too.0
