Access to Work
Hi, I have been awarded a grant for Access to Work for some items and coaching. The grant is awarded on the portal. I don’t understand what happens next. Am I supposed to use the grant from the portal to get the items, does my employer do it? I’m not sure what to do and my DWP worker has now said they are no longer my advisor.

Hey Benny,
From what I understand I think you or your employer may need to pay for whatever services/items that were agreed on by you and Access To Work when you were being assessed and then claim these costs back. I get help with them with taxi fares to work and pay for them myself then send in receipts etc to be reimbursed
P.s I do agree that once the award is put in place after the initial assessment we are then basically left without any hands on support from Access to work advisors. Im not sure why that is but it seems to be the cause for whatever reason
I hope this helps
