Ok found this on BBc.
People currently receiving personal independence payment (Pip), or the health element of universal credit (UC), will now continue to do so. However, the planned cuts will still affect future claimants.
Question. Affect Future claimants is this including reviews for existing claimant?.
Changes to Pip eligibility had been due to be introduced in November 2026. However, in another move to win support, the government said this would not now happen until a review of the payments was completed.
Question. This is good news I hope that a in depth look at the way we scored will be properly assessed. So could this be months in the making or years?
The government plans more frequent reassessments of Pip payments. However, it says those with the highest levels of a permanent condition or disability will no longer face reassessment.
Question. What is considered or likely to be considered the highest level of a permanent condition? Are they saying condition for example osteoarthritis or similar conditions that will only get worse fit this?
if someone has limited capacity to work because of a disability or long term condition, this pay will not start til aged 22 or over.
Question. How can they say that age 22 plus conditions are any different from under the age of 22
The work capability assessment, which checks eligibility for the health related top-up to universal credit, will be scrapped by 2028.
Question. So if you don't qualify for pip on review after 2028 you then lose pip and lcwra is this correct?
The only positive I take from this is there be a review into how pip claimants are scored. It is very disappointing that pip and lcwra will be merged together in 2028. I have personally found the lcwra assessment process be more understanding and professionally dealt with than pip assessment. My other concern is that should PiP become so difficult to obtain then at present I work 12 hours and the lcwra took this into account and understood my need to work a little for my mental health. My worry is that merge the 2 benefits together they say you can work 12 hours and therefore don't fit a new style pip which could still be for extreme disability cases.
I appreciate your time and help with these questions in advance so thank you very much.
