Pip review assessment

i had my assessment yesterday it was a review but it was just very long
2.5 she spent ages going through medications and side affects at least 40 minutes
it was going well until she asked me when I was diagnosed with dyslexia and by who. I went to uni over 14 years ago and then she went into my uni I asked how did that have anything ti do with pip descriptions but she kept going on about it and tried to trip me up about how i work although i explained i have adjustments software etc
I do not feel good about it felt degrading I struggle to work but I do I now work part time flexibly
My assessment has not been written yet so I guess I will wait and ring end if the week?

Hello asg23,
That does sound like a very long assessment.
May I ask a few questions?
Was it a face to face or telephone?
How long did you have to wait for an assessment after posting off your form and evidence?
I'm posting my review form tomorrow and i've read lots of different wait times etc.
I hope yours turns out to be positive news, good luck
Jack

You're doing the right things asg23.
Unfortunately this is how the system has to work. I'm not aware it can be done much better elsewhere.
It's sometimes bound to feel a little like pleading for a bit more bread in a Dickensian workhouse. Sadly that's just how people tend to feel in situations like this. We are literally begging for help (in a very particular way!).
The only way to limit fraudulent claims is to encourage fraudsters to make mistakes in their application process.
I find it helpful to make (and keep) a list of the criteria I think qualify me for the benefit in question, and I try to stick to that.
You make a very valid point about them having information available about our previous claims, thanks.
As I understand it the assessor's will have been given that information about you/us. Next month I'm gonna have to go from ESA to UC and I'll be interested to see how many of the questions I can answer by explaining that my disabilities haven't changed since I was granted ESA. If anything they've got worse just as I age. As far as I know we all do that!
Fingers crossed for all of us, I'll tell people here if I discover anything interesting about the tactic above.
Good luck
🤞
