Reporting New Condition, Medication and Therapy

Hi,

I have reported, a new condition and therapy to PIP today, along with changes to two of my meds. I informed them of the therapy I have had and the more intense therapy I am waiting for.

I read on here that it might not be a good idea to do this as I could be reviewed. In the past I have updated PIP on medicine dosage increases and never been reviewed. Should I be worried?

I am waiting for more intensive CBT for OCD which I did not declare on my original application because I did not know I was suffering with it.

    Hi,

If you put in a change of circumstances, they will review the award.

There is no need to inform them unless you expect to gain (or lose) enough points to change your existing award rates.

Now I am concerned, I just follow the instructions to notify them of changes so I am always upto date and do not get in trouble. Is there any chance they will not review me like all the other times I have updated them? I do not expect to be awarded PIP again when it expires due to potential changes. My current award expires October 2026.

With reporting a new condition it may be taken as a Change in Circumstances and a "how your disability effects you" form will be sent for you to fill in. Fill it in as you did previously as it is classed as a new claim. Go into detail about how your disabilities effect you per descriptor, adding examples. This is a new claim and you will get a new review date going forward. You will still receive your current PIP award money while this is ongoing.

If they don't contact you, the proposed changes currently have been dropped for current claimants, but a further government review is planned, so it is all up in the air. I would not worry about it.
