Worried about LCWRA reassessment

hello everyone

I applied for PIP back in October and it’s been rejected both at the stage of the form and then at MR. Today I received the tribunal pack and I’ve found it very triggering. It included both of my previous ESA support group/LCWRA forms, one where I was awarded LCW in 2019 then LCWRA back in 2020 under substantial risk.
PIP requested the ESA from UC on the 25/06/25 and disregarded them because it was ‘historical evidence.’ I have been diagnosed with anxiety, depression and EUPD, I’ve had a couple of rounds of therapy since 2020 but it did not help and my GP sent a referral in August 23 for me to be assessed for autism and adhd. I haven’t got any medial evidence since then as despite my condition not being any better, there’s no point keep reaching out for CBT or counselling when I know it doesn’t work.
I have breakdowns every few months that leave me bed bound. I haven’t sought out help for this so I have no proof if I am called up for a reassessment.
To further complicate things I am due a baby in early September, so I’ve been scared to reach out to anyone including my GP as not only does reaching out normally make me worse, I’m also scared about social services getting involved which would do nothing but exasperate the situation. I’ve also had to temporarily stop my duloxetine due to the pregnancy although I plan to resume that and potentially propranolol again as soon as the baby is here. Just to clarify I’m not a single parent, and my partner is here to step in when needed for the child we have and the new baby.

I feel very terrified that PIP requesting the ESA WCA forms will alert UC to the fact I am overdue a WCA assessment, and that I’m going to be reassessed and lose everything including being affected by the benefit cap with a new baby due. Is this a possibility?

I know I need to reach out for help as I have been struggling on my own for a very long time. I was also going to reach out for support from my GP as soon as the baby is here as I am already overwhelmed and feel like therapy would honestly just add to my stress levels, and I’m not able to take any medication.

I’m feeling very overwhelmed and frightened and not sure what to do, as even though my conditions haven’t improved and if anything have got worse since 2020, I’m terrified the DWP might not see it that way.

Grateful for any help or responses, thank you.

    Hi @mangomungo

It sounds like it has been a very stressful couple of years for you so it's very understandable why you're feeling overwhelmed and frightened. It is good that you have reached out on here and it's a positive thing that you've acknowledged you're ready to reach out for further help.

To put your mind at ease, the review shouldn't trigger a reassessment as many thousands of people are overdue WCAs reviews.

We are going to send you an email in a while, please look out for it in your inbox😊

Keep in mind, it's almost standard practice now to be rejected after they've assessed your initial application. And then Mandatory Reconsideration seems to be just a box ticking exercise that never leads to a different outcome.

So you're now at the stage where I believe the majority of claimants end up before being rewarded PIP. A tribunal. The tribunal has actual experts on the panel who will listen to you, after asking the important questions, and give you a fair hearing. Just speak as openly and honestly as you can on the day when you have your hearing, and you should be hopeful of a more compassionate outcome.

I got DLA and then PIP at the first time of asking. Are you sure it is 'almost standard practice' to reject initial applications?
