partial hearing loss

Hello, I'm asking for your help, I can't describe everything because my problem goes back 5 years. The point is that my current GP doesn't allow clinical tests, because then there's no need to make a diagnosis. He constantly accuses me of ""I'm just exploiting the system"" or sanctions me with the medicine I'm constantly receiving if I dare to complain. The problem with my ears started about 1 year and 6 months ago, I was given a lot of antibiotics (the many antibiotics caused problems in my liver, I'm now receiving treatment for my liver) despite the many antibiotics, today I can't hear in my right ear and my ear is constantly draining. My problem is that I can't prove that I can't hear normally. It's a huge problem that I can't hold a phone conversation, I don't know how to deal with this problem. Everyone tells me to talk to my GP. People act like they're stupid and don't understand when I say GP, they don't help. Can you tell me something about my problem? I tried a lot, talking to the authorities, but every time the authorities contacted my GP and the shame, medical sanctions, etc. came back. Greetings, Eszter.

I'm really sorry to hear that your GP isn't being helpful @Esther0, that sounds so frustrating.

Could you perhaps switch to a different one or is that the only GP in your area?

Some opticians and high street chemists do hearing tests, would that be a good way to show your GP that your hearing has been affected? I haven't had experience of these tests so I'm not sure whether they could diagnose anything, but they may be able to provide you with some evidence that you've got trouble with your hearing.

I'm sure our members will have some ideas too. Hope you can find a solution soon.

@Esther0 My hearing is pretty awful but probably not bad enough to consult at audiologist yet. Have you already followed the path suggested by @Rosie_Scope and had input from a "High Street" test? If not, start from there.

If you've had a basic test and hearing aids aren't helping follow the advice given by @charl1234 an insist on a referral to an audiologist.

Your ear problems are more than hearing and as @charl1234 says, you probably need ENT input. When you're getting the symptoms badly why not drop in to your local "Walk In Centre" for an assessment? Their opinion would be forwarded to your appalling GP.
