Wheelchair Assessment

I have a telephone appointment for a GP callback on the 16th of this month. They are going to ask for additional information, with regards to me getting a wheelchair assessment at the local hospital.
If any other hospital appointment is anything to go by, I expect i will be lucky to be seen this year.
Being in receipt of ADP, I wonder if there is any point in all that waiting, if they are only going to signpost me to the Motability Scheme? I called Motability, and they agreed that was the likely outcome.
Has anyone else had a recent wheelchair assessment?

ADP suggests you're in Scotland Ranald.
I'm not sure how/if their system is different to that south of the border.
Here you should be able to access a Personal Wheelchair Budget and that could help pay for a 'chair.
About three years ago my assessment was done at home by Wheelchair Services. I was granted a voucher but that 'chair fell through and wheelchair services have completely failed me.
I know other people who've found them helpful though, and I'm kind of complicated in this respect.
Good luck

Is that you, Mr Holmes? Lol. Yes, in Scotland.
Sorry you have had a poor experience.

What sort of figure are we talking, please, LFF? The Quickie powerchairs are very expensive, and a voucher for a puny sum just won't be worth waiting for. Not when Motability can lease a Q700 R to me.
I suppose I am asking how long is a piece of string! Time will tell.
