PIP renewal, paper assessment

Recently sent in PIP renewal by paper, no assessment so decision based on evidence provided.
I am appealing under MR, so no PA4 as no assessment, asked for Statement of reasons, apparently they don't have that, asked to speak to Manager, she said no Statement of Reasons and...rules have changed and they aren't required to send SOR out (but don't have one anyway).
Now organised to phone me at 10am today, is this normal? Why ring me just send me something in writing ✍️??
Any help would be amazing 👏 🙏

Hi,
How did the call go? Did they offer you a better award or was it just for admin?

No phone call....
They sent a text to say phone call now between 4 and 5pm.
Even more panicked now, it has been suggested by a forum member on another site that, they may not have even bothered to read my renewal information, and simply relooked at the original application 3 years ago 🤦♀️

Best wishes for the call @Spinney. Please keep us updated.

You have been assessed on paper. There is a report for paper assessments for which you can make a Subject Access Request. @Holly_Scope I've forgotten what it's called.

@Zipz let me know if I've misunderstood, but I think this is the place you need to be looking Request your personal information from the Department for Work and Pensions - GOV.UK

@Holly_Scope Following the paper review a report would have gone to the DM. @Spinney needs a copy of that report. I cannot remember the name it's called. Anyway, a SAR is in order to aid the MR.

I have requested SAR twice, been told they don't have one, and have nothing to provide 😤
Call was between 4 and 5, 4 minutes to go....

Give that info at MR.

Was called at 5.02pm, lady described whether I'd scored A or B, confused as my letter just gives numbers, 0,1,2,3 etc, says she was looking at something else, I asked can you send me what you're looking at? She said no, only get to look at that at Tribunal. Said I had scored higher on some things but not enough to get a higher award.
First award was 9 points, renewal was 11 points.
I still scored zero on things I expected at least 1 point.
Think I'm out of my depth here.

@Spinney I gather you have had your decision letter and you have been awarded the same as previous. 9 and 11 points is Standard rate. You had a paper based assessment. You expected a higher award so going with a MR. The decision letter will give all points if I remember correctly. Do your MR on the areas your think you should have got more points. Explaining why and how you struggle with your disabilities per descriptor. Give actual examples too. Trying to help here so hope I have got it all correct!

Exactly that, I only have the numbers to go on, not the ABC markers, I don't have any more evidence I can send though? Is that a problem 🤔

I don't recollect the ABC markers. Progress your MR on the information sent to you. I know I did that. On the descriptors you think you should have got more points, explain why, going into detail what you struggle with, with your disabilities. Actual examples are good, like the last time you tried to progress that particular task and say this is what happened. Make sure to send in a written response for your MR as if you call, they may progress the MR over the phone, but you don't know what detail has been written down. Please be aware that your whole claim will be looked at again with a MR too. Hope this helps.
Don't worry if you have no further evidence, the DWP will have all the evidence you have already sent in and this evidence will be used for your MR. It is not a problem not having further evidence!

Have you received the Decision Maker's letter yet? That will give the total of points. You have the same Standard Rate as before it seems. You haven't lost anything. Obviously, if you believe you warrent Enhanced Rate, go for it.
