UC and PIP

No housing costs.

Adult child named on our UC account but no money is deducted or given (finished school) I know they could claim UC but don't at the moment (to much to cope with).

Migrated from ESA in January and been awful with so many mistakes been so stressful trying to figure out what is correct and what isn't.

My adult child 18 is now in receipt of PIP including daily living enhanced rate.

Do I need to let UC know and will it make any difference to anything?

We have also just found out that they're not entitled to free prescriptions under our UC which I mistakenly thought they were as named on our claim and have no income apart from PIP now ( received a PCN) Would've applied for HC2 or medical exemption if we'd known.

Thanks

    Hi @Poppy56

It can be a good idea to let UC know because this can stop UC making deductions for them and might mean you can get extra help such as the carer element. It shouldn't hurt your claim and it could help😊

Thank you for your reply, UC don't make any deductions as we don't have housing costs. plus I'm already a carer for my husband as well so get the carer element for him.

That's why I'm not sure what to do as I don't think it will make any difference, but equally don't want to not do the correct thing, and then it affect us.
