I am over 35, on PIP higher rate daily living and mobility. I get new style ESA and recently migrated over to UC with health element. I am living with my parents but would like to move in with my boyfriend and am not sure if this will trigger a UC review or assessments for my other benefits as I've just migrated?
I will be moving to a new local authority. He's self employed part time and on UC with housing element and lower rate PIP So he is getting the one bedroom lha at the moment. We can't share a bedroom because of both our disabilities. I'm wondering what kind of proof I'm asked for when requesting the 2 bed rate and how I go about it? Do we join accounts? When renting I will have a guarantor but don't have proof I can pay my rent to potential landlords if I don't yet get the housing element? I need to know for sure we will get the 2 bed rate and I will get the housing element in order to make such a huge change. All I'm relying on is the benefits calculators telling me what I should get but if they don't think we have a good enough reason to need 2 rooms then I'm screwed if I have to sign a tenancy to find out. It's making me so anxious because I am also in the middle of filling in my pip review paperwork.my award runs out next year so all the calculations I'm going off rely on my pip being renewed. I know that's alot of info! Just not sure what my next steps are and what evidence is enough for 2bed rate and how long would that take to sort out before we can pay our rent? He's probably going to be caring for me as well so that's a whole world I've not applied for before although my parents currently care for me.

Hi @ohsotired it's nice you're looking to move out with your partner, congratulations ☺️ But understand the anxiety with everything. Moving in together will require a joint UC claim. It might be worth having a look at Benefits calculators or reaching out to Citizens Advice, talking it through with an advisor.
