Another short sighted decision by team Starmer.

Hopefully people will start leaving Labour to join Corbyn's party when he get's it up and running.

I would hope so, but I fear it will just be another SDP, The Independent Group etc.

For brand new ESA CB claims you wouldn't qualify now, as you need sufficient NI Contributions via working in the last few years.
I'm guessing your CB ESA was originally Work Related Activity Group as you said it changed after a year to IR ESA?
Have you since been moved to the ESA Support Group and currently get SG?

The latest survey,ย conducted by pollsters Find Out Now for LBC News, found that 15% would support the new party, matching Labourโs support at 15%.
"Those aged 18โ29 were particular backers, with 33% saying they would back a new left-wing party โ ahead of Reform UK (24%) and Labour (18%)."
Lowering the voting age could only backfire on Keir Starmer's fake Labour, as this youth cohort has no appetite for voting a fake Labour.

Something has gone completely wrong in this country and Reform's answer will be to destroy the NHS and cut welfare to the bone which is going to cause civil unrest, massive homelessness, more crime, more devastation, more hatred towards immigrants and more hatred towards the backing of the Ukrainians vs the Russians.
When the pockets are empty, when the purse strings are tighter people will look for groups of people to blame, cowards usually blame the easiest targets when it massive government mismanagement over at least 15 years has led us to the position, oh I can remember the 2008 great recession also.

I find it amazing that I worked two years prior to being awarded incapacity benefit in 2009 and when they moved people over to ESA in 2013 I was placed in cbesa support group ( even though it was a mistake because they should of placed me in cbesa with IR top up ) although they rectified that with a back payment...โฆ
But even now I'm still on cbesa just because of working 2 years prior to my claim
( actually i think it changed to new style ESA because in 2022 I voullentatrlly moved to UC , where I was automatically put in the lcwra group because of my support group status ) But my cbesa stayed separate although I think cbesa changes to new style when you go over to UC
But never the less new style ESA is still cbesa in another name .... And all these years later just because I worked two years before my claim started and there's been no break in it , I still qualify for cbesa / New style ESA ..... I find that rule strange , you would think they would reassess it after so many years of not working , not that I'm complaining , as you get your no credits towards your pension payed for

To be honest with you all I think the whole situation is absolutely disgusting, the government should have been aiming at the rich companies bragging about their profits and the MPs having a pay rise and don't give a damn on the disabled people. They should be ashamed of themselves, it doesn't matter what part of the elements of the benefits they simply shouldn't point into our direction. Nobody wants or asked for

I used to be so active and worked all of my life and now I'm 55 years old and can't even cut my own food up let alone cook it, then you people from the housing association so what is wrong with you then and expect you to do exactly what they want but not one thought about how that makes people feel. Let alone being in constant pain and don't sleep at night, my husband is now my full time carer and our daughter is my young carer thanks to her school because they don't have a clue what safeguarding children means and put it in place so we pulled her out of school and we are homeschooling her now. But getting back to this I've found since being disabled people look and treat you differently than before and trying to get a mobility scooter on a bus is a nightmare because the driver doesn't seem to want to help you and other passengers stare, huff and puff until I get in the space provided.

Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) has a time limit, specifically for those in the Work-Related Activity Group.ย For those receiving "New Style" or contribution-based ESA, the time limit is generally 365 days.ย There is no time limit for those in the Support Group or receiving income-related ESA.ย
1 -
So .....
those on ESA that are in the wrag .โฆ ( either cbesa or new style ESA ) Are limited to normally 365 .... And ir ESA in the wrag has no end date
And for people on ESA that are in the support group CBESA , new style ESA , IR ESA ) there is no time limit ....
I get CBESA or New style ESA support group every two weeks , and lcwra at the end of the month .... Been like that for 3 years now

Seen a clip about lib dems wouldn't let public into a meeting telling them to get out seems thier all the same

Additionally, if you started with CB ESA WRAG, this ran out and swapped to IR ESA WRAG, then you were moved to ESA Support Group, the CB ESA reactivates and the claim becomes ESA Support Group, CB with an IR top up if applicable.
1 -
Oh ok thanks .... Yeah
I was on incapacity 2009 - 2013
Then moved to ESA CB support 2013
Then In 2018 they realised they made a mistake , as they had with thousands of people .... That when we were moved over from incapacity to ESA we all should of been in cbesa with IR top up .... So they rectified it and gave us a back payment of all the top ups we missed , so by doing that we were seen as having cbesa with a IR top up from the very start of being on ESA ....
Then I moved over to UC and now I get cbesa / new style ESA every two weeks ....( not sure which as I think maybe cbesa changes to new style ESA when you move to UC ) And then get my lcwra at the end of the month with my ESA taken off of it ....
So I've never been in the wrag , always been in the support group , so my award has never had a time limit ....
Thanks for the information though , I never realised that there was a time limit on the wrag โฆ
I was just saying in my previous post , I find it amazing that because I worked two years prior to my claim of incapacity benefit and qualify for contribution based benefits because of that , I still qualify for them now all these years later just because there's never been a break in my claim

I'd say that it's great there's somewhere local that's able to help disabled people into work and wont take advantage of them. ๐

Coming to this very late as I've been away, but - bear in mind this is very regionally done, but in my council area Attendance Allowance is a considered factor in applications for Blue Badges. There is a longer form with more information required for people who don't have PIP or DLA automatic qualification but a fair number of what are known here as discretionary blue badges are issued in our area based on medical evidence, a detailed form and Attendance Allowance.
If you get to that point, take whatever medical information you have for your disability with you to the application. In our area having a long term record for a condition requiring a blue badge is also taken into consideration, although it can't provide eligibility on its own :)
Additional - the suspension of MPs for listening to their constituents is another poor PR move by Labour. I emailed Maskell after the vote to thank her for fighting for disabled people. We need MPs like those who have had the whip removed, because they are brave enough to speak up for the right things.
