I believe the clauses in the mortgages are currently being challenged, presumably because of the change in law.1 -
The law on this is pretty weak in all honesty. It only really prevents online listings showing 'no DSS'.
The landlord still reserves the right to refuse any potential tenant. They don't have to give any specific reason. So changing the law doesn't mean that more private landlords would accept DSS.
