Possible Passport Damage?

Hi everyone, I’m currently wide awake worrying about this. I’m away for a few days next week abroad. I was looking at my passport and I’m worried about it. I noticed on my photo page, there’s a few tiny blue marks on my passport. I’m not sure if that’s meant to be part of the passport or is it ink or chemical stain. I’m worried it’s ink or chemical stain as even though I haven’t or even wouldn’t use anything with ink on the passport or I’m worried the chemical has somehow appeared on it. I’ve been told by Ryanair, my partner and family and numerous other people it’s fine. But I’m worried I’ll be rejected at boarding and it ruins the trip for everyone. It’s too late to replace it now.

I’d imagine it depends on if you can clearly see your face? And none of your details or passport numbers are covered by the ink?

you could even email either the passport office or the airport your flight is from and attach a photo of your passport to be on the safe side🤞🏼🤞🏼x

Face is clear, passport number and all details are cleared. Here’s what it is. I don’t even know if it’s ink or chemical. My dad’s passport has the same colour at the corner and he’s travelled on it a lot. I feel some of the colour has been there for the last few years as I’ve checked my old passport photo from 3 years on my computer which shows where some of the colour is then and I had no issues travelling abroad the last 2 years.

@Bluebell21 Hi, I have travelled on it for last 2 years with the pages like that. I’m sure those marks were there before but I didn’t know if it was ink or chemical.

Take it you mean the black? Tbf I just used that on my phone to hide my passport number.

I'm no expert, but my sister's passport was even worst than that after she put it in the washing machine and she flew to Australia and Ireland recently. Hers was really badly damaged too. From what I can see it looks fine as theres no damage to the photo and the numbers and info can be read/scanned. You should be fine from what I see but again don't quote me on this as it can vary from which airline/country your flying too and what type of mood the staff are in.

I’m sure I’ve had my psssport like that for the last few years or so. Been to Switzerland, France, Belgium and Germany a few times and not one airline, border control or staff have said anything about it.

Flying to Germany next week with Ryanair.

Yeah the damage looks very minor, like normal wear and tear. I don't see them refusing you for that.

Seen photos online of other peoples passport having the same issue.

I don’t think it’s ink or chemical or water damage though
