Confused with Recent Announcements
My mind is totally mixed and I trying to understand what is going to happen now.
I am on pip lower and lcwra higher rate
If you help me I be greatful. Thank you
- So the 4 point rule has this been totally scrapped. Will the old scoring system still be used for new claims or existing claiments on reassessment.
2. If I was to lose pip to what year would I still receive lcwra before that ends completely as am I right in thinking that end in a few years and will be link to pip
3. Will the Timms report be discussed or voted on by mp or is the report to act as a guide to future changes that will be pass without debate.
I would miss pip if I lose it at my next appeal and it's the long wait of review that fueling my anxiety about everything. If I can keep lcwra that would at least be one less worry.
Again thank you for your time and help I really appreciate it. Thank you

Morning @Topcat71
I must admit it’s all very confusing. In regard to your questions:
Yes, the four-point rule has been completely removed from the Bill. It will not apply to any PIP claimants, whether new or existing. Everyone will continue to be assessed under the current scoring system until further reforms are introduced, which won’t happen until after the Timms review is completed (expected in late 2026).
There is no current link between PIP and LCWRA for existing claimants. If someone is already receiving LCWRA at the full rate, they will continue to receive it, even if they lose PIP. This full rate will increase with inflation until at least 2029/30. Any future link between PIP and LCWRA has not been legislated at this stage.
The Timms review is not part of the current legislation. It is a policy review expected to inform future decisions and does not automatically trigger a parliamentary vote. The government can choose to introduce changes based on its findings, either through formal debate or by incorporating them into wider Bills. So, while it acts as a guide, there is a real possibility that some reforms could be implemented without a standalone debate or vote.

It is a lot to absorb, I'm still wrapping my head around things too as I'm sure many people are. It's completely understandable it's causing you worry and not stupid at all. I hope you're feeling a little better today.
