Friday Morning

On Friday I took an early morning wheel up to Durham Cathedral. Nice and quiet early in the day.
Couldn't get a long shot photo of the Cathedral as they're setting up tents for Durham Fringe Festival.
(Yes, I know it's childish but the above image makes me laugh)
I've included a couple of drone shots I took earlier this year. It was tricky because I have to abide by CAA restrictions.

Beautiful photos
Thanks for sharing them
The drone ones are especially impressive to me… not long ago you'd need a plane for that

They brought back so many memories of times gone by.

#Wheeled Weapon,
Once again you have excelled yourself with the photos! Thank you! I'm surprised that you were able to take photos inside the Cathedral! It was a long time ago but I remember visiting Canterbury Cathedral but there were notices saying no inside photos! The grounds look beautiful and the flowers lovely. Yes I smiled at the face on the organ too. I noted the seat with an carving of a ? what along the length of the seat's back. and the lone monument in the middle of the grass (which looks well cared for. (No hosepipe ban in your area yet?) I wondered who was lying in the crypt? Do you know? Purely out of curiosity from my part, no reason, just curious.
I think I mentioned how Exeter Cathedral were raising funds for restorative work by building a replica out of Lego Bricks, for which if you paid a donation you could place a Lego brick to the building. Seemed like a very 'good idea' to me at the time. I haven't been that way for a few years now so don't know if it is completed. I must ask another friend that lives in Devon if indeed it has been completed. Another friend and I hope to visit one of my nearest Cathedral's in Chichester soon. By default though, there is a specialist shop that I want to go to but I do not like driving places unfamiliar to me (one of the weird traits of my neuro diverse conditions), so when my friend can take me, I hope will be able to get to see the Cathedral whilst we are going quite a distance from East Sussex to West Sussex. I am totally in awe of the amazing architecture and work that went into building such elaborate buildings. I also admire the stain glass windows.
I hope that the access to the Cathedral was not too taxing for you, although admittedly a workout for your upper body! Many Cathedrals seem to have been build on higher ground (a bit like a Castle I suppose!) Unfortunately, not very accessible for those of us who are less mobile.
Much appreciate your photos of your adventures. Thank you!
