I wasn't allowed to just claim UC i had to take on NEW STYLE aswel so i am stuck with the 3 benefits. I didnt even know i was on contribution until the UC change over paper came which annoyed me abit as there were no caps £6000 £16000 so could of earned a lot of interest on my money. With the 2 benefits i get roughly the same money as i did just on ESA old type

    Glad your all sorted now

Not something I've heard of before, but all that information is on your birth certificate so they are saying if you don't have the actual certificate, please supply the information on there.

Probably some sort of ID check, UC & NS ESA are separate benefits administered separately, so they won't have access to your UC id verification.

You can request a replacement birth certificate if you can't find yours.

The questions about your parents are usually asked for a Passport application so they are probably using the same system to confirm your right to live in the UK.

@Jelas Hi there I hope your keeping well it's quite a while since you helped me explaining how you closed down your NS ESA claim and just did it all on UC. My son's payment seems to be ok after that first deduction of the 2 week run on from ESA. I just wondered if you have been notified by HMRC about a small refund since closing your claim? My son has suddenly had a small tax refund yesterday but he hasn't worked for nearly 19 years just had a tiny £33.60 a month pension. It's so confusing don't understand where its come from. Thanks

my income related esa migrating to UC.

Also told told that contribute based esa ending on 1 dec and that that it will be changed to new style ESA on 2 December. I will be contacted to book an appointment to complete new style claim. My first payment will be on 24 December. What happens if one one contacts me or an appointment cannot be arranged in time. My uc will be affected eg housing benefit, council

Tax. Also what would be outcome if I choose not to claim new style ESA. I am reluctant to claim that because I am finding it to be very very stressful I would rather claim just for ESA without new style esa
