International Friendship Day

Happy International Friendship Day to you all! π
International Friendship Day started in 2011, upon official recognition by the United Nations General Assembly. Although it has roots dating back to 1958 and the World Friendship Crusade.
The day is all about cherishing your friends; and letting them know how special they are to you, and how much you appreciate their friendship.

Happy International Friendship Day to you all!
Thank you! I have a Colombian friend in London who I met when we were both in temporary housing. Then we were offered permanent housing quite close together.
This one person accepted and trusted me from the start, at a time when I was unstable, estranged from my family and afraid of everything and everyone! I shall send her a greeting today

This is so nice to hear
I went through similar, going through childhood "learning" through experience that everyone except my closest family have some kind of unconditional or instinctual hatred towards me; then as an adult maladapting into not being able to trust or open up to anyone. I think I wasn't the best friend to start with, and lots of people (totally understandably) gave up on me but a few people persevered with meβ¦ a really small handful of people I sincerely think I owe my life to (one person is on here) but they'll probably never get it or believe it, maybe that's because being a good friend is just in their nature β€οΈ
