So here's a fun question for you all, which could end up helping people.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
For me I think it was "Never be in a rush. If you rush things, not only will you make mistakes, but you might miss an amazing moment in life. Like a butterfly coming out of its cocoon, or finding that tenner on the floor."
Over to you. 😁

I've always liked:
"Be who you are and say what you feel. The people who mind don't matter. The people who matter don't mind."

My dad always told me.
Never look down at anyone unless you are helping them up.

I've always struggled with anxiety. I spoke about this with my supervisor when training to be a counsellor. She gave me this quote from Simon Parke. It's been a great way to manage anxious thoughts.
And so it is, that beyond anxiety is not the absence of anxiety, but an increasing capacity to accept it as a visitor.
It is not who you are, though it wants to give that impression. Neither does it live within you, so you do not have to struggle with it in endless dispute.
It is a visitor, always a visitor and it will leave of its own accord, as one who passes through.

Simon Parke speaks the truth there @SaraC_Scope I love that quote. Though I tend to recite "The Bene Gesserit Litany against Fear" from my favourite book, Dune;
"I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain."
I've repeated that to myself so so many times now, but it's helped get me through some mighty tough spots. 😁
@Ranald also wise words there, the currency exchange frown upon carved currency so I hear.3 -

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing, Socrates.
(meaning knowing your limitations and to learn and grow from them, or something like that 🫠😁).

I like this, sounds like something I say: "better to be hated for being who you are than loved for being who you're not". Yours I prefer as it has the positive aspect as well. 😊

I’ve got two that help me get through the tough days:
1) Act in haste, repent at leisure.2) In a world where you can be anything, be kind.
