Child tax credit & esa.

Hello I'm just looking for a little bit of advice if anyone can help.
Can you claim Esa and child tax credits because i was told you cannot when I claimed it, I was never paid for my child in the whole time I claimed esa 5 years ago.
Was this true or was I entitled to it?
Many thanks.

Hey there @Ri14 and a warm welcome to the community. 😊
I believe you can claim both, though New Style ESA and contributory ESA count as income towards your Child Tax Credit. This means you might get less money. There's some information about it here that may be of use.0 -
Thank you. I now claim Uc credits because they migrated me over and I now get paid for my daughter. It's Just someone mentioned that during the time I was claiming esa they should have paid me for her but they never so I was just wondering.
Thank you for replying to me.
