P.i.p paper based review

Got a message saying thay made a decision on my p.i.p review without having an assessment and have to wait two weeks for my letter. Don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing and its worrying as I will struggle without my p.i.p award

Hi whalladz28
My partner is in the same position! Seems they have done a paper based assessment.
Hopefully itβs a good sign π€
My partner has been unable to get his anxiety levels down ever since receiving the text.

Hi charjay1989. My anxiety has gone thru the roof aswell and wile waiting for my decision letter it's only gonna get worse. Don't know why thay can't just tell us the outcome in the message to stop the unnecessary worry and anxiety. Hopefully you get the right outcome and get your award π€ good luck and plz can u let me know the outcome when u get a decision and il do the same as I'm worried for the fact I didn't have a face to face assessment or telephone assessment. Good luck and hope you get awarded π

I had a paper based review recently with not being sent for an assessment and they awarded my claim, extending it for 3 years, so hopefully it means good news if they decide to do a paper review.

You have sent in to the DWP enough information and evidence that a Paper Based Assessment could be progressed. They did not require any further information. Your decision letter is next.

Hi,
Iβm completely with you on they should just message the outcome like with original claim if awarded.
I will keep you updated if we ever get the letter! With the post here could be a good wait, we are lucky to get post once every couple of weeks.

Hi charjay 1989. Got my p.i.p award letter today and it's good news. I got awarded enhanced on daily living and standard for mobility and that was with no assessment paper based so I'm guessing thay had enough evidence to make a decision so I don't think ther is anything to worry about having no assessment paper based decision π hopefully you get your letter soon and get awarded π

Great news.
I'm very pleased for you.
My reassessment is underway and I have requested paper based so I hope they grant it.

Hi Luvpink β€οΈ I didn't request a paper based assessment ? I just sent my review form and evidence and I got a decision on the evidence without an assessment and got my award. I hope you get the same without having to go thru the degrading assessment and get your award your entitled to. Keep it real hommee π and don't worry bout it. I'm pretty sure you will get granted for your illness. Stay safe, don't worry and keep it real, good things will come β€οΈππ

Hello. I am having trouble with waiting for a PIP review. I am drinking a lot. Thank you
for your experience of these things.

I wouldn't request paper based ....too easy for them to take your award.....but if they offer it thats different...means they will very likely reaward.β¦I got a paper based...and got another award for a further 4 years...no way would I have asked for it though

I disagree.
Lots of people here have had successful paper based and if assessors ignore the evidence you send in, tribunals will scrutinise it and take it seriously

Thank you.

I requested a paper-based assessment for my review and told them why. I got my assessment choice - by luck or not, I have no idea. Itβs fine to ask

I think that face to face PIP interviews are probably the best to have as they can see me in my wheelchair , with my special hospital made boots on with callipers in place which come up to my knees . I also have a Carer with as I am afraid to go out on my own and I can only travel with my wheelchair and constant talk with my Carer to put me at ease during the journey to the place where the PIP interview is taking place . I have had only three PIP interviews during my time on PIP which I have been on for the last 21 years it was called Disability Payments before that I think . My last interview lasted about three minutes and she just took my name , date of birth and she asked me " how did you get here today ? " , to which I replied " my Carer brought me in her car , as I am afraid to travel any other way . " That was it is , she thanked me for coming & said I am going to pass on today's findings that I feel you should remain on high component's for both care & mobility . Sure enough that is what it said in the letter that I got 2 weeks later from DWP . If you really can't face a interview face to face then as long as you put all you supporting medical information on the form you should be fine . So don't worry so much , these thing's normally work out for you in the end . Enjoy your life as much as possible each and every day .

We all have our personal preferences.
I cannot travel to an assessment centre due to overwhelming psychological travel distress and I am in the vunerable category to get infections.
I have hand tremors and I cannot hold a telephone long enough to have a telephone assessment.
I have submitted more than enough evidence to have paper based.
