Does Bank really need full Pip decision letter for mortgage?

Hello Community,

Me and Spouse are currently looking at getting a mortgage for a shared ownership half let half buy kinda thing and the bank has asked us for the Pip decision letter. I dont mind showing them the first page wich entails the decision and the overall rates plus payment. That seems fair to me.

However, according to my spouse who was on the phone they want all 6 pages. This seems a bit odd to me. The first page has everything they need to know and the rest of the pages contain very sensitive information and details about my struggles that I dont really want the bank to know. I dont really see why they need to know this much detail anyway or anything about my health conditions for that matter.

Any advice? Is this usual?

Hi @Pan and welcome to the community! 🙂

That's understandable, it does seem quite invasive. I know Banks can be quite strict about the information they require. I wonder if it's possible to take a copy, and omit the detail that you're not comfortable sharing with them?
