The Use of Drones... DWP Spying
I am going to sound really paranoid here.
In Ukraine and in modern warfare there is a major emphasis on using Drones to spy on opposing armies.
A few weeks ago I heard a drone go overhead whilst I was in the garden hanging the washing but I could not see it.
I wouldn't put it past them but...
Could you see one day the DWP spies on disabled folks or anyone for that matter by using drones. To check up if claimants are indeed disabled or out of work?
I could see it

I really don't think the DWP have the resources to follow claimants around, by drone or otherwise.
Try not to worry and just enjoy your life as best you can. As the saying goes, you're a long time dead!

Drones are everywhere these days, but I hardly doubt the DWP are using them to follow claimants. They have better things to do and spend money on than that.

I just can't imagine that ever happening, but that's just me.

Could I imagine the Department for Work and Pensions using drones to watch disabled people in future? Easily. What once felt impossible is now business as usual. Though I doubt it will be drones, too clumsy.
It will be something like a health tracker watch that logs your steps, sleep, wake cycles, calories, heart rate, blood sugar, GPS location, light exposure, and mobile phone usage, and much more, all as live data. They will not need to ask how you are coping, they will already know.
It will be framed as support, but it will function as surveillance. And eventually, they will use the results to shape what disability is allowed to mean.
For anyone reading, this is not happening, nor is it planned. These are simply my personal reflections on how the future may unfold, with a bit of artistic licence, in response to oldngrumpy’s musings on drones.
