World Book Lovers Day 📖💚

Today is World Book Lovers Day which is a day to celebrate the joy of reading! Whether you’re into fiction, non-fiction, fantasy, romance, mystery, crime or anything in between, today’s for everyone who loves getting lost in a good book.

Ironically, there is a book called Book Lovers by Emily Henry that I have on my bookshelf which is on my never ending list of books to read! Has anybody read that book before?

I really enjoy reading and I love buying books. I’m very lucky that I live near a town that is 80% charity shops so there’s always some great bargains in there!! I agree with the whoever who come up the saying that buying books and reading books are two separate hobbies!

I don’t think I could pick my top favourite book so here are a few of books that are in my top 10…

• I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman
• Boy Parts by Eliza Clark
• Big Swiss by Jen Beagin

I also recently read Love Untold by Ruth Jones and thoroughly enjoyed that!

I'm shocked that no one has replied to this!

I've recently finished a series of books called " The Horus Heresy" which is massively geeky and spans a whopping 63 books.

I did cheat and had to rely on audiobooks for about 30 of them though. But that still counts right? 😆

@Albus_Scope I only saw this today as I was off for a few days, but sometimes I wonder if "sticky" threads have the opposite effect. Something I often do - subconsciously - is bypass the stickies and seem to treat the first "normal" thread as the "top" of the page…

I would be interested to know if others do it, it might just be me as I've used forums for 20 years and might just be a habit you acquire as on forums (not necessarily this one) you get used to the stickies being the same for years so almost develop a blind spot for them to go in!

An interesting question there friend @66Mustang I've been using forums since their very early days on the internet and oddly I've always checked stickied posts first, then searched the forums for the information I've needed, then I've posted if I couldn't find anything. But I am fairly odd like that haha. 😅

@Albus_Scope yeah don't get me wrong that's my mindset too on a new forum, but like on one I've been on for a few months I tend to get conditioned to the stickies haha

I think it's me, I'm a bit like it with other stuff that's meant to get your attention… like I'll intentionally but not consciously (is that contradictory) not look at adverts and stuff on web pages haha

I'm with you on the charity shops, you always get such bargains there especially on hardback books which are my favourite! What's been your biggest bargain so far?

I find world of books really good too for second hand books, always free shipping too! Have you shopped on there before?

I was a big fan of Enid Blyton too growing up too, have very fond memories of being obsessed with the secret seven books 🤩

I love how you have such a varied selection of books… like, I kinda think most people you could form a very rough image of them looking at their bookshelf, I wouldn't try doing that with yours 😆
