PIP - Is my review after October 2025 or 2026? Do I have to fill in a form again?

Hello,

I was awarded Pip up until October 2026. My letter says "we will contact you while getting PIP to see if your needs change. This will be after October 2025"

So is my review after October 2025 or 2026?

When they contact me after October 2025, will I have to fill a form again?

Thank you,

Sunshine

Hello @Sunshine41, My award for pip is until Sept 2026 so far I've had no review form,or any contact, which will be a disaster as I'll be migrating to UC around the same time.

They generally send review forms anything up to a year before the award ends. I take it you haven't already filled in and sent a review form to them?

They usually send reassessment forms well in advance and yes you will have to fill out a new form.

@Doglover2 Thank you for your response. No I have not received any review form as yet, so have not filled/sent anything back. I hope things work out for you.

@luvpink Thank you for letting me know. I find all this so confusing!

PIP can contact you at any time while having a PIP award, but rarely do. You can be contacted for a "check" to see if your needs have changed, this is like a "check up" and they usually go smoothly. Finally, you will get a review before your PIP end date of October 2026. The form is sent out in advance. Full out the form in detail as you did your original form, as it is advisable not to just write "no change." There are different reviews depending on the length of your award too. Hope this helps.

@sunshine41, they send them out early, very early. My review is in February '26, I received the form late June this year, that's about 7/8 months for them to get sorted. Had to call for an extension, they gave the usual 2 weeks which was fine, all done & sent back & they text to say they received them the 15th July. Now it's the waiting game.

@Trevor_PIP Thank you for your help, this was very useful. In particular the part about filling the form.

I received my form 15 months before my current award expires.

Mine was around the same timescale as luvpink: 15 months before the end date. My review was processed very quickly too. Assessment by Capita was around the initial deadline for the review form to be returned and DWP decision was made within 10 days of the Capita assessment. I say initial deadline as I didn't receive the review form, so had to ask for another to be posted (which ultimately meant DWP made their decision before they processed my form and evidence).

Good Luck with your review. when you do get the forms.

    Thank you.

I have requested paper based but whether they agree is a different matter.

I supplied loads of evidence of how my disabilities impact my daily life.

Thank you @luvpink and @Storm25, it gives me a good idea of what to expect and to push me to be a little more prepared as I could get the form at any time.

I've been told by someone at PIP its fine to write 'Nothing has changed'. Loads of people do.

It is advisable to write out the renewal form like you did the original. It is classed as a new claim. Some Claimants who wrote no change or nothing has changed had their PIP reduced or stopped. That is why forum members recommend you fully write out the form explaining your current difficulties per discriptor.

Hi Trevor. This is where I get a little confused. I am of pension age, my 10 year award will run out in Nov 2027. Whilst reading B&W about my situation their recommendation seems to imply not to go into any detail, can't remember if they just advise to put no change or something similar. Its a while since I read the article so I could of course be mistaken, I will need to read it again at some point before my review.

As you are of state pension age, your ten year review will be a "light touch" review. As it is a "light touch" and you are a state pensioner you could state nothing has changed in this situation, as it is not as thorough a review. Also if you get the Mobility element, you cannot change the PIP rate, say from Standard to Enhanced. You can only change the Daily Living rate, say from Standard to Enhanced. It is not as thorough a review. So what you have read is probably correct.

Thank you Trevor for explaining, appreciated. I still feel a little nervous about leaving sections as no change. I guess because this will be the end of my first and only 10 year award, its very different from all previous awards, in the past there was so much sent to evidence my claim. I am on enhanced in both sections. I will really need to re read the info again on B&W at some point, I am guessing some time next year. Thank you again Trevor.
