International Youth Day😊✨

Happy International Youth Day!😄
As someone who was diagnosed with a disability at 12, I’ve experienced firsthand what it’s like to be both young and disabled. It’s not always easy and sometimes it feels like resilience is something we have to build faster, younger and harder than our peers! But as I’ve gotten older, I definitely see this resilience as a real strength and a positive thing.
Being young and disabled doesn’t make anybody any less worthy or valid than anyone else. Our experiences might be a bit different but our value is equal. We’ve learned to face challenges in ways that shape us and that’s something to be proud of, even if it’s hard in the moment!
So today on International Youth Day, let’s celebrate young peoples ideas, their stories, their energy and encourage them to be exactly who they are and chase what they want to be.
Sometimes, simply giving a young person a chance whether through employment, education or giving them the right support can change their life in ways we can’t even imagine!✨
