Hi @tich1980 and a warm welcome to the community from me!

It's lovely to have you here and I hope you enjoy your time on the forum!

We do have a wonderful CP Network here on the community and I will tag them now @SaraC_Scope, @Lucy_Scope and @Richard_Scope who offer specific information and support for people with CP and their families who may be able to help answer that question

    Hi @tich1980,

Welcome to The Community. My name is Lucy and I am a Cerebral Palsy Specialist 😊

Are you registered with a dentist? If you are, I recommend speaking with your dentist about your cerebral palsy. For example, how it affects your dental health.

The best dental procedure depends on your oral health and personal preferences. It also depends on any specific needs related to cerebral palsy.. It should be consulted with a qualified dentist.

If you are not, you can use the NHS Find A Dentist tool.

You could consider a community dentist. This could be an option if you cannot find an accessible dentist.

    Best wishes,

    Lucy

My son with CP has always seen the NHS Community dentist as they have (or should have) wider experience of a rang of impairments that can affect teeth. Not sure what the referral process is but worth looking into it in your area. GP should know TBH

GP or your current dentist should be able to make a referral to the community dentist, also known as special care dentist. They are great. They deal with all types of physical disabilities and learning disabilities as well. I go to one because I have autism and they can make so many adjustments to be able to treat people with different needs.
